Frequently Asked Questions
-
Healing doesn’t happen on a perfect schedule. Life is busy, and together we’ll find a time that supports both your goals and your daily life. To request an appointment, reach out by phone, text, or email.

We believe quality mental health care should be accessible and transparent as possible. Before beginning services, we’ll review fees, insurance coverage, and payment options so you know what to expect.
Hawthorn & Bloom Counseling is in the process of credentialing with several insurance plans. Please contact me to verify whether your insurance is accepted. If we are not in network with your plan, you may choose to pay privately.
Session fees vary depending on the type and length of service provided. Current fees will be reviewed before your first appointment, and you are always welcome to ask questions about costs or billing.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be subject to a $75 cancellation fee.

Your safety and well-being are important to us. While we strive to provide timely support during scheduled appointments and routine business hours, Hawthorn & Bloom is not a crisis or emergency service.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, have thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, or feel that you cannot keep yourself safe, please do not wait for a response from me.
Instead, please:
Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.
Call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
If you are able, reach out to a trusted family member, friend, or support person who can stay with you and help you access immediate care.
Messages, emails, and voicemails are monitored during regular business hours and will be returned as soon as reasonably possible. Responses should not be expected outside of business hours or during weekends or holidays.
If you are an established client, we can work together during your sessions to develop a personalized safety plan and identify resources to support you during times of increased distress.

Life is busy, and sometimes the most accessible therapy happens from the comfort of your own home. Hawthorn & Bloom Counseling offers secure, HIPPA-compliant telehealth sessions for clients who prefer the convenience and flexibility of meeting virtually.
Please note that telehealth sessions are available only to clients who are physically located in a state (North Dakota) where I am licensed to practice at the time of the appointment.
Whether we meet in person or online, my goal is the same: to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to move toward meaningful change.

Hawthorn & Bloom Counseling is currently a part-time private practice. Appointments are available by request, with a combination of evening and select weekend appointments.
Because availability may vary from week to week, I encourage you to reach out to discuss scheduling options. We strive to offer appointment times that are both consistent and sustainable.

I bring both professional and personal understanding to my work. I know that resilience is not just about surviving difficult seasons - it is about finding ways to continue growing, connecting, and finding meaning afterward. A therapist is someone who sits with people in hard places.
